Michael Smith

Owner and CEO

My name is Michael Smith, and I’m the Owner and President of One Stop People Solutions, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) specializing in HR consulting and 1099 medical contractor coordination in support of federal missions.

I bring over a decade of HR experience from a 12-year career in the U.S. Army, where I led personnel operations and compliance across multiple leadership roles. After transitioning to the civilian sector, I worked with the Army Reserves as a Staffing Manager, connecting 50+ employers with Veteran and Reserve talent across North Carolina.

Since then, I’ve held senior HR leadership positions including Director of HR and VP of HR, where I built HR functions from the ground up, scaled headcount for high-growth organizations, and led workforce strategy, compliance, and risk management.

Today, alongside leading One Stop People Solutions, I also serve as a Fractional Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for a mission-driven organization, offering executive-level guidance on strategic people operations and sustainable growth.
